Trademarks and Patents (SENAPI)

The registration of trademarks and patents is based on the added value of registering them to the name of their owners, as a mechanism of protection or opposition of use against third parties.

The trademark in Bolivia is protected by registering the same with the National Intellectual Property Service (SENAPI). The registration of a trademark or patent gives the company the exclusive right to prevent third parties from marketing identical or similar products with the same trademark, distinctive sign (similar or identical) or using a trademark so similar that it may create confusion, and even use the reputation and relationships you may have built with your customers and business partners.

Therefore, although this is not mandatory, it is highly recommended to register a trademark for the exclusive and excluding rights it grants.
